Priya, our Registered Physiotherapist, is a credentialied Mckenzie (MDT) Therapist. The McKenzie system of MDT (Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy) is a reliable method to assess any musculosketal problem- ranging from neck, back, shoulders, knees, jaw, hips, ankles, wrists, fingers and toes. It can also help you manage pain with problems such as arthritis, degenerative discs diseases, headaches or nerve related pain such as numbness, tingling.

Therapists who undergo McKenzie training have to undergo a series of post-graduate courses followed by a competency exam. Upon clearing the exam, the therapist becomes a certified McKenzie therapist. Their names can be found on the official McKenzie Website under the 'Providers list'. To stay on their provider list, one has to continually take continuing education to stay current with their technical skills and knowledge. Thus, this way you can find out qualififed MDT practitioners in your area. Priya is the only credentialied MDT (McKenzie) therapist in the Region of Waterlo.


The Method is evidence based (i.e, research informed) and uses exercise/ movement based approach to assessment, diagnosis and treatment to come up with a clincially meanigful evaluation. The therapist does not need to have diagnostic imaging to help assess and/or treat your pain.
