This is your first ever Physiotherapy Appointment?

Let us orient you what to expect at your first physiotherapy appointment. ..

You have never been to a Physiotherapist and this is oyur first time ever. Yes, it can be intimidating for some because of the unknowns. However, we would like to smoothen it out for you and put you at ease even before you walk in through our doors.

> When you book your appointment, either online or over the phone, we will send you an intake form.

> An intake form is a generic form asking about demographics, reasons for your visit and incorporates a part on CONSENT.

> We take CONSENT very seriously because that is the basis on which we go ahead and treat you. Just because you have signed the consent form doesn't mean that you can't change it later. If there is something the clinician is doing or you are not sure about, please verbalize it to the clinician. Our physiotherapist is known to have a listening ear when it comes to patient's concerns.

> The physiotherapist will divide the appointment into roughly two halves- History Taking and Physical Examination

>History Taking is as it sounds - the physiotherapist will be taking your history in terms of your presenting problems, medical background, goals and Expectations. It is at this point where the physiotherapist will be working with you to establish short term and long term goals. Goals are of utmost importance in physiotherapy because if we don't establish goals, then what are we really working towards?

>After a bit of chit- chat, the physiotherapist will be taking you through a series of movement testing. It is after the movement testing that the physiotherapist will have a clue as to what is the limitation to your full potential and come up with a potential diagnosis. If there is time remaning towards the end of the appointment, the physiotherapist may be able to take you through your treatment (time permitting).

> At the end, physiotherapist will establish a plan of action for you. They will be doing it with your help. Our physiotherapist is a firm believer in collaborative approach and thus, will involve you at every step of their treatment plan.

We will see you at the clinic!
